What's going on...
Science: Mrs. Bush's class gathered information on a Night Sky Log this past week. Next week it'll be Mrs. Compau's classes turn. We'll be taking that data and seeing if we notice patterns/trends in the night's sky.
Reading: We are continuing along in our unit on analytic reading, with focuses on comparing a characters emotions and choices with ourselves, and thinking about whether we'd make those same choices. Next week we'll move into think metaphorically about our text. This unit is fairly abstract for the kids, so we're spending multiple days on a topic. There WILL be an assessment at the end of the unit requiring students to analyze two different perspectives of 1 topic. They'll need to think deeply about the stories and look for more than the "easy" connections.
Language Arts: This week we continued to improve our persuasive essays. We also took a spelling test. Our last list of words will be given out next week!
Social Studies: We continued to learn about Patriots and Loyalists and will begin learning about the Declaration of Independence next week!
