Mrs. Compau Sign Up Genius found HERE.
The holidays are coming up fast, and both classes plan on having a special activity on the last day of school (Friday, December 22. For this day to be special for all, we're asking for some donations. If possible, please sign up on the correct classes Sign Up Genius above. In a nut shell, Mrs. Compau and Mrs. Bush will be providing muffins for a holiday breakfast, but we'll need some food donations for the rest of the breakfast. In addition we will be doing a holiday craft that we could definitely use some parent help with :) If you want to volunteer, please make sure you have a background check on file in the office. Thank you in advance!
What's going on...
1) Convert the mixed number(s) into improper fractions (there are still many struggling with this skills).
2) Simplify (if possible) before multiplying (if students do not know their division facts this is very difficult).
4) Convert your answer back to a mixed number (if needed).
Students will have a quiz, and some workbook pages in their Friday Folder if you would like some ideas of problems to practice. In addition to that, there is a HOMEWORK page that is DUE on MONDAY.
Science: Students who did not score an 80% on their science test average spent this week working on a small extra credit assignment. Several students are struggling to get this done. The deadline is next Thursday. Students who scored above an 80% average were able to learn about computer coding, snap circuits and other STEM supplies I received with a grant last year.
Reading: The January reading calendar will be sent home next week. Feel free to send the December one in after the break.
All notes and the glossary should be finished for famous Americans except for the introduction. We will be going over that next week. Feel free to look over your child's notes anytime. We will be needing a shoe box for a part of this project in January. During the holidays, if you could set one aside that will be helpful.
SPELLING BEE IS TUESDAY! We will be holding our bee in class on Tuesday during Language Arts. The top two winners per class will participate in the school bee in January. Words were sent home the first full week of December.
Social Studies: The Exploration test is Monday. We spent time in class at the end of the week reviewing and playing a review game. The link to the vocabulary practice on Quizlet is below. A copy of the study guide was sent home with the email today.
